Giant Beavers and Shy Candlepoop

Today we start at mile marker zero on the road to Alaska! We've been in Canada a few days now, and the scenery has gone from flat to Rockies to flat again. Banff was beautiful, but we were teased by all the "watch for wildlife" signs. We saw nothing but some crows, possibly an eagle, and a couple chipmunks next to a toilet. As much as we called "here, caribou, caribou, caribou!" (or Cerys' "here, candlepoop, candlepoop, candlepoop!), we saw nada.  Oh well, the mountains and glaciers were lovely!

Yesterday we did see this guy...
Does he count as a large mammal?

Today we expect flat countryside on our way west, but you never know, maybe we'll discover a giant "candlepoop" statue!
